Just something that passed through my mind. Something like THIS (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&tc=photo&item=7953600008&category=38650) could help facilitate a C64 portable prdject, no? It takes composite video and RCA audio in and only used ~7W @ 12V I could see gutting this and mounting it internally in a C64 case, mounting the LCD hinges to the C64 case. The LCD itself would have to be flipped so the image woulnd't be upside down. Even if not for portable, it could be neet for desktop.
Just a thought.

Just gut it to the hardware hacks to the 64DTV.
Fit the whole unit into the bottom LCD case.
You can use a slimline atx Power supply or rechargeable batteries...
Just a thought.....

Ahem.....You know that there are c64 emulators for PDAs don't you?
Hmmm...Imagine booting into that when you turn on your PDA...Ahhhhhhh no WindowsCE and I actually know how to program this one. :-)
Ok. Going back to my happy place now. (http://64.33.47.100/images/a1000anim.gif)

There are tons and tons of little LCD displays around now; I've seen something similar without the big fat mounting 'base,' and I'm pretty sure there are camcorder viewfinder panels (cheap in surplus, perhaps) that might take a plain composite or Ch3 in.
How about keeping the 64DTV whole, and adding a pair of iGlasses or similar? 8-)

You're 21 years too late! Commodore themselves produced a protable er-luggable C64 with a nice 6" screen.

yeah but your health insurance will go up due to potential back injuries with those SX's.
They are more draggables than portables.

Hehe, I agree. Nice computer but they weight a ton :-o Just like the original Compaqs which were anything but compact!

Cool, C64-wearable! 8-)
Actually 64DTV with a nullmodem would be very cheap videout for various things.
