Hi
According to Forbes, Capellas, the former CEO of Compaq (the present CEO of MCI) is the favourite candidate as the new HP CEO.
Fiorina, the former HP CEO had resigned on Feb. 7, 2005.
If Capellas succesfully become HP CEO, is the same event as Steve Jobs becoming the new Apple CEO?
Does this mean that Compaq is actually taking over HP, not the other way around, similar to Next and Apple?

Was Fiorina the one who started the whole HP Compuke merger thing? HP has gone so downhill since then. Poor HP. hehe well their Pavilions are the MOST - BY FAR machines to come in for service at the store where i work... followed by Compuke and clone towers from another store in our area....

I've got two Compaq EN series SFF's here and tbh they are damned good machines, designed by certifiable madmen in their hardware sqeezing cunning and as stable as rocks. I would if I could afford to buy many more of these systems, they are imho great examples of what a PC *should* be like in operation and to repair/setup.

I agree with Leander! Compaq's Deskpros and EVOs are excellent machines. Compaq got a bad rep. because of the Presario-series, but they generally produced very good products.
I still have a Deskpro EN SFF at home, running Knoppix.

Exactly - I work with the general public and what they have tend to be Presarios, especially the 5000 series machines.. I think they are just cheaply made and badly thought out. The quick restore never works right and takes usually 2 hours.. so much for quick lol. Anyway I am not the server tech, and I've seen maybe one old Deskpro. I'm lucky I get all the presarios wheee
