Title: 'C' programmers.. What's this mean??
Post by: melott on January 20, 2005, 07:53:37 PM
I D/L'ed BoingBags 3.9 and I'm trying to install them.

When I run the installer I get this error message....

---------------
...Sorry  an error has occured ..

'Interpreter: executing non-function in line 3'
---------------

Line 3 reads...

...' (set #wbversion 0) '....

I have OS 3.9 installed, so what should the line read ??

Your question would best be directed at 'installer script writers' :-)

Personally I have no idea what the beef is, having never written any installer scripts :-(

@melott:

If you haven't already, try unarchiving the BoingBag archives with the original Lha unarchiver. There is comically a bug in I think the original 3.9 Unarc and the 3.9-BoingBag1 Unarc resulting in wrongly extracted BoingBags.

I think that he needs a newer version of the installer program in his SYS:C folder.

It can be found in BoingBag 2 archive. It's somewhere in there. The one from OS3.9 CD should work as well.

Yes it's the fact someplace (probably C:) has the wrong installer replace all installers with the one from the os3.9 cd (or remove them all and just put one in C:)

All the boingbag updates require the newest Amiga version of installer(also you will need your OS3.9 CD too)

Yes .. I found that out.........
I solved the warm reboot problem by going back to OS 3.1
on the A2000. In OS 3.1 it will warm reboot.
I don't know what the problem is with OS 3.9 but on the
A2000 I don't really need Os 3.9 so I went back to OS 3.1.
