I consider him one of the last truly creative directors alive left. him and david lynch
I actually saw Brazil in LA when it came out and I was one of the only people in the audience. maybe the only one. and it's a masterpiece!

I saw Brazil in Edmonton opening night. Can't recall why I felt the need to see it, but the theatre was packed. So brilliant I saw it again the next night and saw so much more. Saw it again the next night too and saw more. Amazing movie. Saw it eight times before I thought that I'd actually seen all of it. Definiately should be seen on the big screen. Saw it on video one time and it just wasn't as .... big! Kind of like Lawrence of Arabia except the other way around. Saw it on TV first and thought it was OK. Then saw it on the big screen. What a movie.
Sad that so many movies actually look like they were made for TV (and they probably are as there is so much money to be made on DVD).
Anyway. Brazil. Wow.

I agree he is a superb director, he recently made a series over here for the BBC about the middle ages, which was absolutely brilliant.

In a moment of weakness I got that over a year ago. it has a great documentary in it.
(and, btw, when they reissued Larance of Arabia some years ago I stood in line to see it On The Big Screen. Yup, it's incredible that way)
(Oh, and have I mentioned that I also saw Citizen Kane on the big screen when they reissued that one????
see, i never go to the movies unless they bring out something incredible.) :lol:
