Hi Whabang. Yup, I am satisfied. Yellow Dog is my distro of choice. I will do some testing again tonight with Yellow Dog. There is a new installer cd wich I will test out. And also I want to try out Mac on Linux.

I've ordered an XE mobo with a single G4 CPU card.

Good comment given the recent horror stories. Maybe more beta testers should make similiar comments if they feel the same ... or keep quite if they disagree.

Ok, here's my story:
I bought one of the Earlybird G3 packs - the whole kit.
I had some initial problems, but these seemed to stem from a ppcboot/FSB problem, which I'm told have been solved in the latest update to ppcboot. Once I had lowered my FSB from 133 to 100 everything in Linux is working fine. (I'm told I can change the FSB back with the latest ppcboot)
I am using Suse and kde2. I can browse the net using Mozilla, burn CD's using my 52x52x24 CDRW, and run UAE. The only downside is that at the moment BSD socket emulation does not seem to be working in UAE so I cannot surf using amiga programs.

Add one G4 XE for me.

I'll wait for the dual cpu module and then I'll order one.
Cheers

have a G3 than a G4 but there you go.

Some people have found it useful to lower FSB to 100 for installation, if your memory is a little flakey. Once it's up and running, you can go back to 133.
Note that the A1-G3 still runs at 600Mhz by changing the clock multiplier. Quite a few of us are running at 700MHz with no problems whatsoever.

Well, it's time to put up or shut up. Well I won't shut up.
But fess up I will.
I haven't placed an order of any kind, yet. Tomorrow (Wednesday) I am joining the Amiga Club.
I can't get a new machine at present. But I had the same problem in 1986 when the A1000 came out. Had to wait till 1989, and got an A2000.
This time, that's not an option, waiting 3 years, that is. Amiga Inc. needs sales NOW. My plan is to be able to get One before October.
When I buy it, I will get the fastest CPU that they offer, 800MHz or maybe 1GHz:-D 1.4:-o? and populate the board with a FULL 2 Gigs of ram. With that I will run the OS fully memory resident, and do what a $600 billion dollar corporation insists isn't possible!!!!!!! Hahahahahahahahahaha!!!
Amiga! In yer face!!!!

Judging by the amount of replies to this post, i'd say not enough. :-P

I have ordered an XE too.
I doubt we will ever know how many AmigaOnes have been sold/ordered unless Eyetech tell us?!
