Title: problems installing warpup v4
Post by: lyricalbenjie on January 17, 2005, 09:54:59 PM
Dear Amiga Friends,

I have problems installing WarpUP 4 on my amiga. The problem is that when i start the installer, I see the welcome message and on the next page i see the error message "getenv string is too long",does anyone know what this means ? Should i correct/adjust the installer script? I did read (in my search 4 the answer) that WarUP 3 and Blizzard did not work together very well, or not, but these problems were solved in WarpUP 4 weren't they ?

Thanks 4 your time and support !!

Lyrical Benjie :-?

My setup :

Towered Amiga 1200
Mediator SX
Blizzard PPC, 160 mhz,15 Mb Ram,68040/MMU+FPU,

Sounds like a dodgy c:installer. Which version do you have?
(Right-Amiga E
newshell
cd c:
version installer full

That is, assuming you have the installer tool in your C: directory.)

WauW !  I just did what you wrote and my installer is realy ancient !  It;s installer 1.24 (1-9-1992). I will check aminet for the latest installer, i hope it works... for now, thanks for your quick response !

Succes ! Thanks a lot Odin !!

I had both the amiga installer and an alternative installer from aminet installed.I removed the "alternative installer" and used the latest oficial one (v43.3), and now it works fine. Great ! Tonight I am going to install it, but I have to do some reading first. I have to use the blizzardppc fix and need to know about backwards compatability with ppc/68K software. Thanks a lot for your help !!

With kind regards,
