My friend finally got around to give me the .avi version of my tape that I gave to him some months back, so now anyone who wants to sneak a peek, can do so.. :-)
But I don´t really know how to make it avaliable for download.. The only thing I can think of is Bittorrent, but perhaps someone else has another idea?
-
Share it through AmiGift (http://amigift.sourceforge.net) ;-).

Yamaha mio specifications (http://www.yamaha-tech.com/wiki/Yamaha_Mio)
-
I'd say bittorrent it until someone hosts it. I'm curious as a cat to see it.
-
Or run your own FTP on your computer at home and let us leech offa you :-D
-
I would prefer FTP, but my broadband connection is seriously crippled, since it for some strange reason goes thru a router in our basement, and the admin doesn´t seem to want to open up all the ports directly to my computer... Sucks! :-(
I´ll create a torrent and post the link a little later..
-
Sounds interesting.
Not too keen on Torrents personally, but at least it gives me a reason to fire up Tomato Torrent
-
Here we go..
http://www.thepiratebay.org/download.php/3276159/Unofficial%20AmigaOS%203.5%20Promotion%20Tape.avi.torrent
I hope it works.. Let me know if it doesn´t..
-

I can host it on my site if you want. It only has a 512 Kbps pipe to the 'Net, but it's better than nothing. The question is how to get it from you to me. Let me know.
-
Do I need to connect to a specific server? Otherwise it´s shared now... The file is called "Unofficial AmigaOS 3.5 Promotion Tape.avi".
-
eehmm....sure it's shared?
Just tried a search for it but nada.
I'm connected to all servers me think.
Bittorent would be better IMO.
-
I provided a link to the .torrent a few posts back..
I don´t really know how Emule works, so I might have missed something..
-
I get bad file info when I try to run the torrent. I'd be willing to seed it for the weekend to let everybody get it.
--edit--
Okay, weird thing alert - can't save it or open it using Opera (even spoofed as IE), but I can open it through IE :-?
Leeching it now, I'll leave the pc on all night for you guys :-)
-
I'm leeching the torrent without probs at 33kbyte/sec now.
-
Yep, there are some people getting it... Not too fast though... :-(
But I´ve managed to share more than 100MB now... :-)
-
You could try to upload it to Aminet.net. But I don't know if this movie is illegal.
-
Well, in a strict, legal, pool-cue-up-my-ass kind of way it technically is "illegal", but I thought since the company that made it doesn´t exist anymore, and the tape is ( or at least was ) being sold for the cost of the media, no-one would really care about it...
Right? :-)

"Problem connecting totracker - timeout exceeded"
I hate torrents.
-
I'm a big fan of BitTorrent...
-
Mmm... The tracker seems to have one of it´s bad days... Perhaps it´s overloaded, or something... :-(
-
If I can get it, ill connect to Razorback 2 later and host it on Edonkey for people, thats cool.
-
well.. that was. hrrrm... an interesting movie...
Pretty neat. :)
"Problem connecting totracker - timeout exceeded"
I hate torrents.
let me guess, behind a firewall or proxy? Open up the appropriate ports.
-
Oh, so you downloaded the whole thing? I liked the comparisons between Windows and AmigaOS... :-)
-
Shh! Dont Spoil It!
-
Sorry ´bout that... :-)
-
I give up on the Torrent.
If anyone has FTP'd it to webspace, please PM me and let me know.
-
I'll help seeding when I get it down. TPB's tracker seems to be dodgy as usual, though.
-
HTTP download (http://85.224.57.0/Unofficial AmigaOS 3.5 Promotion Tape.avi)
It's a 1 Mbit line, so don't expect faster speeds than 100 Kb/sec.
-
Whats the file size?
-
Approx. 73MB..

I hate torrents too, im currently downloading at 8KBps, when the maximum download speed I can acheive is 192KBps.
The most I've ever had from a torrent was 13KBps.
It's the most over-rated piece of software I have ever used.
Any chance of sharing it with KazaaLite?
http://www.kazaalite.pl (http://www.kazaalite.pl)

Well, Whabang seems to host it, he put up a link a couple of posts back.. Much better than torrents.. :-)

Oooops missed that one! Thanks. :-D
Is it just me or does anyone else find bittorrent in general really slow?
-
I guess torrents really depend on a system of verifying that people "seed" alot, and not uploading everything people can think of ( as on the "professional" torrent sites ) and not as on the tracker on which I uploaded my torrent, on which there is no content-control, nor obligement to seed.. Which perhaps overloads the tracker, resulting in poor connections to other users...
Those are my thoughts, anyway... :-)
-
thanks for the http link... i will get it this weekend..

It's quicker than torrent so will suit me fine
Downloading now, thanks
Oh yes.. anyone complaining about Torrents, don't blame the software, I have used many different apps and still slow, or lucky to download anything
-
Not so good now it has stopped at 60Mb of the 75Mb file
:-(
The part of the file which has downloaded only plays audio.
-
@HopperJF
Do you have your internet connection behind a router; cos slow torrent downloads are normally the symptom of lack of port-forwarding. BitTorrent loves ports 6881-6889 (Traditionally). I know this cos I used to suffer from having downloads at around 2KB (If they'd connect at all) and after discovering the cure, I could download at fullspeed. Just downloading this file, was around 20KB per second which aint bad at all.
Hope this helps at all
-
It's a *brilliant* vid! If you believe the vid everybody in Amiga International's offices was exclusively using Amiga's :-D.
So er, what's the story of this vid? Was it shown at a shown? Was it distributed to Amiga dealers?
-edit-
Cool, Petro T. plays Super Stardust :-D. Only...somebody please give him a decent joystick.
-
downloading the torrent at a nice speed of 170kB/s now :) thanks

@HopperJF

I was talking about your general BitTorrent problems.

Whabang was obviously waiting over the big cancel button while watching you slowly reach 90%!
-
Great Vid!
Whos the girl at the start? :-D :-D :-D
-
Getting it from whabang now ~60k i'm at 62 megs... Just 3 minutes left...
Edit: Got it! ;-)
-
Try to download it again, HopperJF. My connection can be a bit dodgy at times. I've been bugging my ISP about it for months....
-
Is there any way someone can repost a link to this file, torrent or not, doesn't really matter. Seems that all the links are dead, and i would really like to see it.
-
Here we go...

SUPER! Thanks a billion!
-
Superb video! Brings back good memories... dear petro..
-
Someone tell petro that you don't need to keep the joystick on the mouse pad for it to work. :-P
-
what am I doing wrong? I get a frozen screen after a second or two while the sound continues. Or is this an amiga only avi file? I'm using m$-mediaplayer
-
Haha.. I would sell my soul to the devil for that "AmigaCola" can..!!
Great video!
-
I NEED to know - is this thing real?
Did Amiga International actually create it?
Regardless - it is the funniest [computer industry related] thing I have ever seen!
:-D
-
jeez that was lame! Esp with the installation procedure.
I guess I've been spoiled by dave haynie's great videos (in terms of historical content)
These guys do some pretty good vids too

Sure, it is real. I have the original VHS tape of this video.
