Title: Need different BlizzardPPC pics (WITHOUT SCSI)
Post by: neofree on January 13, 2005, 02:07:59 AM
The pics at amiga-hardware.com of the NON-scsi version of Blizzard PPC has a heat sink covering the upper right portion of the board... I need a pic that shows that area because I've removed most of the SCSI portions on my board that HAD SCSI and am trying to make it a non-SCSI board.  I'm doing this cuz the SCSI chip was severely damaged.

Also, does anyone here know if there is a different firmware for the SCSI and NON-SCSI versions?

Thanks,

Neofree

I've just uploaded my 040/25-603e/175 BPPC to the gallery, keep an eye out for it.

It's the non-scsi version without a heat sink :-)

Thanks! My Blizzard PPC now LOOKS like a non-SCSI unit...  but still doesnt work :(

it used to work! before some of the parts were knocked off. and pins busted ..  i broke some pins on that scsi chip so i took it all off..

are there different firmwares for SCSI/non-SCSI?

I certainly would not have done this. I had a BPPC with SCSO, it happened something similar to whathappened to yours, but removing the SCSI was the worst decision I made, it never worked again. Maybe you get lucky though, in order for the A1200 to boot you must disable SCSI by pressing the 'S' key when cold /boot or resetting the machine. If I were you, I would try to contact amiga.fr to fix my board. Thy're not at amiga.fr anymore, they changed their web address but I'm sure they're still around.

As for the firmware, afaik, it's the same.

Good luck,

D.
