I stumbled on a link where this address I thought would lead to an www usa aminet org site. Did I typed wrong here???

So, was this aminet too? :-?

I don't think it was a US Aminet server. I think it was us.aminet.net.

EDIT- from AWeb it works and spoofing even on IB now.

Might be a good idea for a mod to delete the link.

Instead of deleting the link, put a big bold large-sized letters warning right before it and change it from a direct link to normal text (you'd have to take out the www part to avoid the auto-link script in xoops though).

I don't think it's ever been part of Aminet at all.

Aminet.org was the name back in the early 90s.  Somewhere along the line, probably when netnet.net or cdrom.com dropped the main US mirrors the name died.
