I just got an x-surf2 for my a4000D(040,3.1/3.9os), with it in I get a red expansion board diagnostic error on boot. So I took it out placed it in my A2500 (2.0) works fine I can run the boardtest it came with. Placed it back in the a4k and it gives error tried the 2091 from the a2500 and it also give me the diagnostic screen error (tried all 4 slots on the daughter card).
Not sure what to try next I put the Videotoaster4k(left the DPS tbc v4 card out) it came with back into it and it works fine but it plugs into the isa slots?
Any suggestion I took out and reseated the daughter card clipped the pins like some sources said?

Sounds like a busted "Buster" chip. Is yours soldered to the board or in a socket?

has a buster 11 in a socket
I'll see if I can get one ordered I believe this is it's second buster chip.

Ok I'm just damm lucky since the Buster chip was replaced before I just gave it a good push down made a minor scraping sound turned on the a4k and now it works fine :)
so far at least.....
