Ok, I also have an iCrap, I mean iMac. I would like to have this puppy up and running, but as fate has it, the iMac was designed VERY artistically inside, by which I mean that all cables are about 2"'s long, and are ALWAYS in the way when you try to put things back together. In this case, both my video and IDE cables were severed when sliding things back together.
I wonder if Apple has ever heard of insolation? If they would have simply wrapped all cables with thick rubber, none of this would have happened.
Anyhow, what I'd like to do now, is put my iMac mobo into a tower, and hook it up to a VGA and NORMAL IDE CD-ROM. Is this possible?

Thankx a lot, this is going to be fun!
I love the idea of getting rid of Apple's crappy case, and making the best use of the hardware. To bad they won't open source it. It would be a nice way to give back to the community, as well as promote "creativity".
Anyhow, I found this quick and dirty hack:

Would be good for a quick start, then when I have more flow, I can move on and adapt myself to a PC power pack and the like. I'm currently considering putting it inside my old Barbie PC, and making it into a Hello Kitty PPC instead. I'll probably invest into some RAM and try to run Linux on it. What flavor would be most suggested for a 233Mhz iMac?
Also this guy says he is going to run OsX on an iMac?!??! That would have to run like hell wouldn't it?
