Title: How much is an A1200 worth?
Post by: kd7ota on January 08, 2005, 07:32:00 AM
I am curious to know how much an Amiga 1200 sells for today.  Reason I ask is because I found my Amiga 1200 still at my parent's house and seems that all the hardware is still there with it. It does have the external dataflyer XDS to connect a 3.5 ide hard disk to it.  A bigfoot power supply is there with it too, and the high density disk drive is inside of it. The only downsides are that i did replace each individual keys with newer ones, so it does cilck differently.  Also the case is a bit kinda worn since its been used forever in the past when it was my main computer.

I was wondering... If for some reason someoen had a defective xbox they may want to trade. All i want is the main unit box of it.  The only thing I would want defective is the CD drive ro the xbox, but as long as the rest of the unit powers up and the harddisc inside still boots, that would be plenty.  I do live in the USA, but my Amiga 1200 is still at my parents. If anyone is interested in such swap for my whole Amiga 1200, then I would take the time to get it up here so that I can clean it up and mail it to the one interested.  I know a plain xbox is probably worth more, but maybe there is an Amigan who is interested...... :-)  :-D

Any takers?  :-)

To give you an idea of how much an A1200 can be worth, I sold mine with an 68020 Blizzard for 90 euro, which is about 117 USD ...

An A1200 that is nothing but the standard A1200 you got when you bought it is worth well under $100USD.  However, my A1200 has a 040 and PPC accelator, SVGA video card, and wireless lan.  It's value is far higher then that of a stock A1200...

I'd say 70$ for the A1200, 15$ extra for the BigfootPSU, another 15$ extra for the Dataflyer and last another 50$ for the Highdensity Diskdrive... So about 150$

Lets see... here is how what I got from my A1200 setup a year ago:

BlizzardPPC + 128MB  :120 EUR
BVisionPPC           : 80 EUR
Floppydrive (HDD)    : 15 EUR
A1200 (towered)      : 40 EUR
PCMCIA (adapter+card): 15 EUR

FinalWriter 97 + 2 games: 9 EUR (sigh)

(10EUR = 13USD)

FW97 saddened me... I had to bundle it with games (Theme Park AGA and PGA Tour Golf) to get rid of FW97 box... :-(

Yea,

I knew it had to of been around $100, but I was settling with a plain xbox unit.  :-D I doubt anyone would want to do the trade-off though. Like I said, I dont mind if it has a defective CD rom, just as long as the main unit powers and works.  I will see what happens.  :-)
