I downloaded A64, the C64 emulator for the Amiga.
I got version 2.x and 3.x. The problem:
Version 2.x works perfect on my Amiga 500. Anyway, i can't run any *.prg, *.d64 or *.t64 programs/games.
And, it doesn't work on my Amiga 600HD. The screen does just flicker white...=S
Version 3.x doesn't work on my Amiga 500. The Workbench floppy doesn't have any room for the sid lib files.
So, i tried it on the Amiga 600HD to, and it just flickers white there too. =(
To load the *.prg, *.d64 and *.t64 i tried to mount df2:TheA64Package\64Prgs in DRIVES, and then use the command:
LOAD"*file*",8
i tried
LOAD"*file*",8,1
too. And, i've tried to include the file extension, tried to remove the file extension in windows and then copy it over again and run it. Nothing worked...=(
Can someone help me?

Scrap A64 and get MagiC64 !!! You won't be dissapointed, but in either case you need a FAAST Amiga. Only on a 040 + will it can run 100%.

The A64 emulator is the only option for slower Amigas. It ran at full speed on my A4000 with a 030 @ 25MHz.
However, just like you said, MagiC64 or Frodo is a lot more fun.
I used to have a 1541-II connected to my A4000 (and my A500 before that) through a special adapter. I used that with A64, and Frodo 2.4 I think and it worked very well, but only for programs not using a turbo-loader. Those where the days... :-)

A64 cannot load .d64, .t64 or .p00 files - only .prg. Magic64 can load and convert all these formats. I use Magic64 to convert these files to the C64 format (otherwise known as .prg) to be used by A64.
But sometimes A64 even has a problem loading the .prg format because the filename is not the same as the "internal filename" (or whatever it is). Then I use Magic64 (yet again) to make sure the names match by loading and resaving the .prg file. This always fixes the problem for me.
If you're really having problems, maybe I could convert some files for you. Don't expect many games to work properly with A64 though. I only got 5 or 6 games to work well enough to be playable.

mr_a500: Ah, thx for the nice awnser! =)
Gonna try Magic64 then...in Amiga Forever or something. ;)
-
OKey, now i got Magic64 running. How do i convert my files?
-
Ah, now A64 does work! =)
It does go slow as hell, but it works good enough for me. =D
The problem now is that my version (2.x) doesn't have sound support, and version 3.x needs 6581sid.library. My little Workbench floppy doesn't have any room for the 6581sid.library, and A64 doesn't work on Amiga 600HD. The screen does just flicker.
I got WB1.3 on the A500 and WB2.05 on A600HD.

Sid: You could kick your 600 to 1.3 and then try A64. Get Rekick and a 1.3 ROM file.

@SidVicious (what a cool nick ;-))
I agree with the guy above. But you could also setup a spare "backup" Workbench disk for A500, and just delete some of the less important stuff on that disk, and then put the 6581sid.library on there. But make sure the disk still boots and functions okay :-) If you are using MagiC64 make sure its registered, i have the key file, which was given to me by the author via email.

Ah, now it works. I removed Untilities from my copy of the Workbench floppy. Anyway my Amiga doesn't have enought memory for the latest version (1mb). =(
So, there it ends...^^ ;)

If you want to use the autentic C64 instead of emulators, you only need a C64 and this: http://c64sd.roxer.com/
