Have just put PFS3 filesystem using this instruction http://www.tgpd.fsnet.co.uk/tutorials/software/thecrypt/profressionalfs/pfs3.html
it went smooth (had OS3.9 bb2 on the partion prior to PFS3 inst) but after a reboot and wanting to install 3.1 on the PFS partion I can't see now icon so I can't format the drive.
Do anyone know how I should proceed to install WB3.1, later I want to install Os3.9 but I'm installing 3.1 first so I can get my cd-rom working with my PCMCIA alfa data cd-rom controller.
grateful for an answer :-)

Check the partition with HDToolBox. Is the "Automount" checkbox activated?
-
Yes, in HDINSTTOOLS the that checkbox is marked.
Couldn't find any AUTOMOUNT option in HDTOOLBOX on my WB3.1 install disk.

^^ *bump* ^^ :bump:

You don't need an icon to format the disk. Just run the Format program (from the System drawer on your boot disk) and choose your partition from the list. Or run format from the shell:
format drive dh0: name empty noicons quick
("dh0" being the name of the partition and "empty" being the name to be shown on the desktop).
If you partition is not in the list, you have to check your HDInstTools settings. You should read the guide which comes with PFS3 rather than following a dubious internet page.
Bye,

Problem solved already.
I went into HDTOOLBOX and saw that I had missed a setting and saved the changes and the partion showed up after reboot ;)
I can tell you that PFS3 is a big change in speed compared to FFS, I recommend it to everyone.
Anyway thanks for showing interest in helping me Thomas, have seen you help alot of people at EAB, keep up the good work so people really can enjoy their amiga's to 100% :-D
