How many people here actually go to amiga.com for imformation about the Amiga?
I thought this would be interesting to know.
:-P
-
I use the forums there, but that's it. The last AmigaOS related news was the features list on 13/1 - and I got to hear about that from other places. The Amiga Corporate site is hardly the fountain of knowledge :-)

How many people here actually go to amiga.com for imformation about the Amiga?
Never as they never update their website, like most of Amiga companies never update their websites.
I for one would hope in the future they would update their websites instead of expecting people to go around news forums etc to see what is going on.
The AmigaONE is a fine example of how pathetic the company talks to its customers (or soon to be).
-
I usually only go there following a link[/i] to something new that some kind person has thoughtfully provided!
-
Not me. I've stopped going there altogether now, for news of Amiga related things or anything else. There's just nothing to see or read*, so why bother?
* - except for the BS, which I've learn to completely ignore.
-
never
-
Once a month, when it might have actually been updated.
But to be honest i prefer sites like this as they are more informative and you can communicate with other Amigans through the forums and IRC.
Who wants to read about freakin Microsoft on an Amiga site? Not me.
-
I dont go there often. Maybe once a month or if I hear thats its been updated. The site is real dead most of the time so whats the point?
-
I'm with the rest of y'all. If Amiga Inc has something new to say, someone will post a link here or on one of the other Amiga hangouts.
-
Hi !
I go once a month . i receive also once a month the Amiga Update bulletin and i use the A.org site quite often because more news .
Norm7 :-)
-
Not very often. My last visit was around december. I had to check out those ultra cool snowflakes present at the time :-)
-
Almost never. Just about the only time I go there is if someone posts a link to something interesting.
-
Mountain Myst,
How many people here actually go to amiga.com for imformation about the Amiga?
If it's OS 4.0/A1-related and Amiga.org has a news post linking to Amiga.com, then I'll go, but otherwise, I get all my Amiga news here on Amiga.org.
I agree that for someone who is supposed to be a community leader, Amiga Inc's web site lacks in all that a community leader requires. One could call them a sporadic news site, with posts once every blue moon. I suppose they're a bit busy pushing DE and being sued by blue butterflies. :-P

Yea. The Snowflakes. :-D
-
Do the forums count?
I hardly ever use the static parts of amiga.com but I do visit the os.amiga.com forums on a daily basis.
Not a whole lot of news there, though, most of the news items are reposts from a.org, amiga-news.de etc :-D
-
Same here Blomberg.
I go there everyday as a matter of course. (the forums, that is).
-
They have a website???!!! ;-)
-
well, i only go visit for updating after hearing all about it here first. ... ... . .. ... ..
otherwise i dont visit the site at all. ..... .. . .. . .. .. .
-
Hoya!
Well, to be honest, I hardly got there because of the obvious lack of
things to read...
WHY on Earth don't they put MORE things on their site to show people
it is alive????????
I check AOrg everyday though...
Be funky
M A D

I prefer Amiga.org
Faster, with better interface and fun!
Besides Amiga.com is not too "update - frienly.."
:-P
-
everyday!
but i check all sites at least everyday dont want to miss any news.
Has anyone recieved their vouchers or T-shirts yet?
I'm still waiting.
-
I'm always hopeful for news about the Amiga, but I keep my expectations low. I also come for news about the Amiga community, news that affects the Amiga marketplace, etc.
-
You know...
There is actually one simularity between Amiga Inc. and Hyperion.
They both have very, very outdated websites.
Hyperion's is just as bad.
Maybe Amiga Inc. wants to be more like Hyperion, because Hyperion is the leader of not updating thier website.
Or maybe they are ashamed of the fact that they are involved with OS4, because if I remember correctly, they don't even mention OS4 on thier site.
Correct me if I'm wrong please.
-
Hyperion's is just as bad.
No, Hyperion's is far, far worse - the last update was 25th November 2001! And the projects page doesn't even mention OS4.
-
2001? Oh dear
-
Amigas website is actually pretty much up to date. It just doesnt get updated as often as Microsoft or Apple.com which is hardly surprising the size of the company and the things to talk about.
What i dont like about the official Amiga website at the moment is all the microsoft talk. we want amiga talk not ms talk. Microsoft never talk about us so why should be give them the satisfaction?
-
Eyetechs website has got to be the worst, how the hell are people going to get information about the AmigaONE when all Eyetech do is make announcements on mailing lists instead of acting professional and updating their website to let customers (soon to be) know what is going on.
-
No doubt.
There's not even imformation on what type of ram or video card should be used with amigaone.
That I know about.
-
Sometimes.
I like os.amiga.com website
-
I've visited their site a few times, but not recently.
Why should I? The Holy Bible is updated more frequently.
-
Har....
Har....
:-o
-
I dont really check any sites, i have setup changedetection.com to monitor the sites for me, they send me a e-mail when the site is updated, then i visit.
