I closed bidding on 2 CDs worth of GlowIcons (Vols. 1 & 2) last week, and expect them as soon as the holidays are over. Can't wait. I need them bad because even though I installed OS 3.9 and it fixed SOME of my icons, I still have the really ugly ones that came with WB 3.1, popping up unexpectedly like the in-laws on grocery day! I won't be able to show my face in polite society until I expunge every single one of those 'things' from my system! Now, do I have to manually hunt down and de-stroy them all, or is there some automated way to do it?

Best thing to do is install 3.9 on a fresh 3.1 install so you only have glowicons (if you've done that already then you may be experiencing file permission problems, in which case copy everything to harddisk and remove any RO permissions before installing).
There is a handy tool for replacing icons easily but I can't remember what it is :-( (remember they can't just be copied over existing ones!)

You'll probably have to do it all manually I'm afraid :-(
But, do the def_icons first (I doubt there's many 3.1 icons left in there), then load up IconImageCopier (from the OS3.9 CD) and use that to copy the icons you want. You can select multiple icons and put them all onto the Paste icon and it'll do them all. Which is very handy.

Thats what I was thinking of! Think I'd better go back up my brain before it crashes ...

I got loads of GlowIcons and other icons from aminet so I put IconImageCopier on my AmiDock :-)
I don't know how I'd manage without it :-)
