After a 10 year break I bought a new Amiga today. Managed to snag an A4000 in very nice condition. I had a new one when they first came out, when I saw this one on EBay this morning I had to jump.
I may know some of you...I was very active in the Amiga community. Online at both the AmigaZone and at GENIE. I managed to write for nearly every Amiga publication in the US including Compute, Amazing, and AmigaWorld. I was also involved in the manuals for DCTV, Brilliance, and A-Max IV.
I have an Amiga 600HD that I've been playing with for the last few weeks. Hopefully the A4000 will arrive in the next week and I can go on the internet via the new machine!
Good to be back!!

Aloha beller,
Welcome Home. Some very nice stuff you've worked on. Brilliance was well Brilliant. Is your new machine "loaded"?
There is still good hardware around for it. This place holds much knowledge and most are willing to give input. Enjoy your stay. :pint:

Welcome back...
Better pick a dealer and pre-order an
Amiga µA1 "C" before you start craving
one and can't get it.

I just checked my DCTV manual and yes, there you are. I love DCTV ...and the manual is pretty nice too.
I'm sure you'll have loads of fun with your new A4000. I started upgrading and using my A500 after a 10 year break and what a nice relaxing change from having to screw around with Windows. (I'm using my A500 to type this)
Welcome back! :-)

Hey Bob -
Welcome back to the Amiga.
Cheers!

Thanks to all! I understand the comment about Windows...my house is Windows less! The A-Max project got me involved in Macs....I only do Windows for money..hehe.
Best,
Bob

Hey Bob,
Can you tell us what kind of electronics were inside the DCTV? I've always wondered...

Really good ones? Seriously, never saw the inside of one. We were handed early production units and beta software to write from Most of my notes came from videos of the engineering/programming team explaining what they expected a certain feature to do. Seriously, the nite I got my first look at DCTV I was stunned! Haven't seen or heard from the old DC guys since Play folded.
