Title: TRS-80 Emulator on Amiga: ROM Pak Conversion?
Post by: mr_a500 on December 28, 2004, 01:48:17 PM
Here's a question for anyone using the TRS-80 Colour Computer 2/Dragon emulator -  Dream:

It seems that every ROM on the internet for the Colour Computer/Dragon is in "ccc" format. Is there a program to convert these ROMs to "dsn" format to be used with the Dream emulator?

(I'm thinking this is a hopeless question. It seems that these days, people are emulating Amiga, not using a real Amiga to emulate other computers.)

Download the 6809Roms (http://www.funet.fi/pub/msdos/interfaces/emulator/6809roms.zip) archive from the Funet (http://www.funet.fi/pub) which had the Dragon ROM file included as .dgn (D32ROM.DGN) format. Then use the ConvROM utility which is included in the DREaM archive that converts the .dgn formatted ROM file into a format which can be used with emulator. (All that it actually does is to strip the first 16 bytes of the file and copy the next 16KB into the specified file, so this can be done with CygnusED as well).

Place the converted ROM in the emulator's drawer. Open the drawer from Workbench, press R-Amiga+E and type:
assign DRAGON: ""
Start the emulator.

Thanks drHirudo, but that's not what I'm looking for. I probably should have been more specific.

I'm talking about ROM Paks - game cartridges. I already have the Dream emulator working and some BASIC games in cassette format, but I want to run some game cartridges. They seem to be only available now in .ccc format (used to be .pak format), but Dream expects .dsn format. I thought somebody might have written an Amiga program to convert. (like the "paktodsn")
