Title: Digitising 8mm celluloid film
Post by: odin on December 26, 2004, 09:47:27 PM
Are there any practical DIY solution apart from taping the projection with a digicam? How are the results if you have it let done by a company, what techniques do professionals use?

Ta x-ray, googling showed there's lots of little companies doing it. I'd be interested in hearing from someone who's actually had their films converted. Qualitywise and such.

@ odin,

It seems to me to be harder than any may think. Flicker rate of film vs scan rate of camera. Would it be better to digitize
each frame and then run them thru as a string or just take a scan of it running? Darn good question. Please let us know what you find out.
