I saw this auction and wondered why the screen looks just like the c64. My SX64 has a white border and says SX 64. Does this have a hacked rom or something?

Yes. The SX64 has a different Kernel ROM than the normal C64. The colors are supposed to be more readable on the 4" screen. It also doesn't have tape routines so things like SHIFT/RUN will do a disk load instead of tape.
Someone probably swapped out a bad ROM with one they had lying around.

I bought an SX with the blue screen new in 1984. I think CBM made both depending on the parts they had. I hadn't seen the other SX screen until there was an EBAY post for one recently. I managed to snag a blue screen SX which should be arriving here soon....the 8bit still lives. Amazing!
