The SkyOS people have ported Firefox & Thunderbird to their OS. They are also going to realease A 30 page guide on "how to port mozilla to new OS guide".
Amizilla bounty anyone?
:-o

"Connection timed out"
Has this been /.ed?
-
Yep. A quick Google for SkyOS revealed the SlashDot article at the top of the list. Only 2 hours old...
-
Yea,
Their getting /.ed & OSnewsed!
hella of a beating :whack:

Thats just sad that a newOS with limited application support has Mozilla and we still dont for Amiga or like systems. What is the deal with that?

The deal is, quite simply, that the terms under which Amizilla must be developed in order to get the bounty---OS3.x compatibility most notably---kill the project as surely as 1 plus 1 makes 2. SkyOS apparently has a better infrastructure so it can carry the weight of a complex program like Mozilla far more easily. Enough has been said on this matter elsewhere (you can look up the discussions on this site), so I am not going to rehearse the arguments presented there.
-
No argument intended. I agree that os 3.x should not be a factor in getting a Mozilla port. I just hope that when this "guide" comes out someone would make a OS4 and/or a MorphOS port. It would be nice to have.
-
@Cymric,
I was thinking OS4 port when I started this topic. I forgot about all the OS3.x compatability stuff
:-?
Shouldnt have brought up the bounty
My bad

Aha, okay, I agree that with OS4 things are somewhat better positioned for sure, yes.
