Title: EU Software patents to become law without vote
Post by: smithy on December 20, 2004, 10:07:40 AM
BBC News Online has an excellent article Be careful how you code (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4104841.stm) about the introduction of software patents in the EU.  The Dutch Presidency is introducing them without a majority in the EU Parliament, without majority support from member states.

Balkenende must go.
Really, he must be the worst Dutch president of all time.
And I knew that before he was elected, and I did NOT vote for him.

I had this covered by an article by zdnet which I reported in the politics section here (http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=13103).

But yes very interesting article none the less.
