Title: Amiga Ethernet
Post by: Xamiche on December 19, 2004, 06:12:50 AM
Hi there,

I have just bought a 3com PCMCIA ethernet adaptor for my Amiga 1200, and I am wondering if anyone here has built a Amiga to PC ethernet network? I am unsure which software would be best on my Amiga side. I mostly want the network for file swapping, but if I can get a browser for the Amiga 1200 I would be also interested in trying out my Amiga on the web. If anyone could steer me in the right direction I would be very appreciative.

Xamiche

Amiga Samba (http://www.amigasamba.org) works well to network Amiga to Amiga and to a PC and it's free.

Some Amiga Samba help (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/amigasamba/?yguid=8554198) at Yahoo groups.

iBrowse is a pretty good browser.
Yam is a great mail program.

Xamiche : your A1200 will work as good with the 3Com card as another A1200 in a tower with an Xsurf Zorro ethernetcard. You can use MiamiDX and the 3Com driver on Aminet  :-)
