I have been a misguided soul for so long. But I have finally been saved. From now on I will devote my life to spreading It's word. Now what event triggered this phenomenal change in my life? I will tell you.
I was having a fit of nostalgia and browsing through one of my old issues of Amiga Format. It was late at night and had already undone my trousers and socks and was lying on bed. Little did I know that my life was about to be changed radically and forever, I can only hope that you non-believers can share the same magnificent moment of love, peace ans utter bliss at least one time in your lives I experienced when I read the following sent in letter on page 79 of issue 123 (even the numbers are Sacred! The number Three!), may 1999:
Barbarians and sweatshirts
I saw the A-Z of Spectrum Games and in the bottom left hand corner you'll see the box cover to Barbarian 2 for Speccy, C64, Amiga and Atari ST.
Well on the Speccy and the C64 cover the bloke on the right is surely Wolf from Gladiators. Do I win a nice free Amiga Format t-shirt or sweatshirt? Please don't send me one of Nick's old ones.
Chris Seward, via email
Unfortunately, we're right out of sweatshirts, Nick's or otherwise. However, we do have a nice half-eaten apple and a peculiar sock that no-one at Future wants to claim if you want them. Seriously though, send me your mail address and I'll put a bundle of stuff in the post for you.
I cannot believe now that I doubted Bloodline's words. Will you accept my sincere apologies :-(. I wonder if The Sock has been sighted in other places in the five years It went missing.

You say that now, but wait until you see what's involved in the (un)holy communion ceremony...

@ Odin
:lol:
You can see how tantalising a sock like that can be: the previous owner couldn't even finish his apple...

In years to come, we'll still be lamenting this thing :lol:

@Bloodline,
I sincerely hope that after half a decade of unspeakable suffering and abuse that you gave your sock a decent christian burial? Actually, maybe a cremation would be the decent thing to do...?
Five years is an exceptionally long life for any sock, my own seem to be past it after six months - and that is when used for their intended purpose.
I think we should all call for a minute's silence in honour of the sock so we can all reflect on others who abuse inanimate objects in similar fashion.

Actually it got washed... :-?

It did need "hollowing out" before use after a while.

Like no one else here hasn't "abused" a sock or two in their time :roll: :-D

More and more people (http://www.oddtodd.com/message344.html) experience the Holyness of the Sock day by day!

Oh no... I kind of imagine a "Planet of the Apes" type scenario happening before long.
Say I was launched into space tomorrow and thanks to a nasty accident end up frozen for five hundred years.
Upon my return to a post-apocalyptic Earth, I happen upon tribes of mute humans all migrating in the direction of the site of an abandoned laundarette.
Right in the middle of the rubble and the bowing primitives lies one mangled sock...

Good lord, how did I miss that? :-D

Greetings,
@PMC
:lol: The Messiah left his sock? :lol:
