Title: Thinking of opening my Amiga treasure chest.
Post by: x56h34 on December 08, 2004, 07:51:06 PM
Well, I am basically running out of space. There's simply too much hardware around and I need to downsize it, or open up a museum. :-) Also, hopefully I will be receiving an AmigaOne soon and it would be nice to clear some space for it. ;-)

I still haven't decided what exactly needs to go, however this is a work-in-progress/rough copy of the list of potential hardware that could possibly be for sale. I am only 100% sure that I'll be keeping my expanded A1200D and Escom A4000T systems (not in the list below), as I wouldn't want to ditch the OS3.9/68k Amiga environment for good, once I transfer to OS4.0/AmigaOne. If anything, at least so that I would be able to properly play classic games through WHDLoad. ;-)

I'd like to hear some offers through PM. Mind you, please don't aim low as I am fully aware of the value of each individual item from the list. Yes, think of me as Eric Cartman of Amiga sales. It's quite possible for me to say: "Screw you guys, I'm going on eBay.". :-D

Here's the list (http://www.x56h34.com/amiga/hardware.txt).

Oh my.. there's loads and loads of stuff there... I bid a 5$'er for the lot. ;)

Honestly... there's a few items there that did caught my attension but I'm almost out of funds so I probably can't afford any.

Wheeeeew, mate!! Where did you get all those PPC cards from?

My prediction of the first three items to go:

1) The PIV
2) The SCSI module for the Cyberstorm MKII
3) The A4000D Motherboard

Would an A2300 genlock work in an A1200 with ZIV board and video slot enabler? In that case I'd be interested in the video slot enabler.

@AdMartin:

That's a big question mark. Perhaps someone who used this combo (or tried to) could help?

I seriously doubt that Z-IV busboard provides compatibility with any ZII card out there. More likely is that it's compatible with newer stuff.

Well the ZIV board is essentially a ZII busboard with custom ZIV slots. However, the A2300 isn't a Zorro card at all since it uses the video slot, the question is whether the A2300 works with the AGA chipset in the A1200. I have no idea.

I have received an offer of $700USD for the CSPPC card (with 128MB ram included - 4 matching 32MB 60ns simms - shipping cost is extra). Is anyone interested in making a higher offer?

I should also add, that any accelerator from the list can also be purchased with memory, if desired. Maximum memory expansion of any accelerator is also possible.

$700 Yikes, and to think I sold my A3000 with Mediator and loaded out to the max and a CSPPC for just $100 more. I still cant see why today people pay so much for those things. You could get an A1 micro for that!

Did you see how fast Redrumloa's CSPPC card went yesterday for $720+shipping? Sure, the AmigaOne boards give you more overall performance, but there's still quite some demand for the classic PPC cards, and they're rarely seen for sale. Supply and demand, and all that mumbo jumbo. They still go like lightening. I myself would have a reason for a CSPPC card even though I already have an AmigaOne... If this thing goes for $700, the buyer should be happy it didn't get to ebay first!

I don't think they're worth this kind of money, but someone out there will have a need for one and be willing to pay...

If you'd have parted out the 3000 kit you mentioned, you could have taken in quite a bit more. ;) Some people probably would have even looked at that package and seen only the PPC card...

@PMC
Here's a better way to weigh the situation.

Comfortable bed or Livingroom Couch

@ PMC

Tell your girlfriend this:

"A happy boyfriend is a productive boyfriend. And a productive boyfriend is a boyfriend who buys VERY EXPENSIVE Valentine's Day presents"

 :lol:

Here's another one:

"Ask not what your boyfriend can do for you, but what you can do for your boyfriend"

@ vpcs

Withholding basic 'comforts' is illegal, according to the Boyfriend And Girlfriend Act, 1996, here in the UK. If PMC is any good, he will have got her to subscribe to that in writing before he initiated this liaison.

You wouldn't believe how many PMs I received. :-o
Mostly people asking how much I want for item x, instead of making an offer. :-)

I think that minus a few bits that are reaching their potential eBay high prices through offers (e.g. CSPPC card), I am really tempted to go to eBay.

She's just had a new MTB bought for her, which may make for a very happy boyfriend indeed.  I was thinking of surprising her on valentine's with a Blizzard PPC accelerator for her Amiga 1200...
