Sorry to see this. :-( Although I haven't purchased but $100 of stuff from Red, it's sad to see Anachronism going.

Yep...
But perhaps he's gonna become an AmigaOne dealer ??

That's a much easier way to go bankrupt.
-
Yeah, that is kinda sad to see. Hopefully Red will be able to sell off his old stock and not lose any money in the end. Good luck Red!

A real pitty. And I was even advertising his auctions about the Prometheus at my friends ... hope he“ll be back soon :-)
-
Argh, spewing! :-(
This is something I do not want to see happening, especially to someone I have the utmost confidence in. I too hope he gets back, unfortunately, there's a little too much negativity all round. And I don't mean flamewarring, rather a certain type of despondency has set in, a mood where all hope is becoming lost. Hopefully this will change...

This is a sad day. :-(
-
A little more than an hour ago he still had Prometheus boards in his list for 139USD, but now they seem to be disappeared :-o

Hi Red,
you know (i'm sure) that to be an "Amiga only" resseller, its a suicide nowadays. (even if i understand your passion)
Why not simply extend the sales, even on others consumers devices (as HDs, GFXCard for all systems, memories etc, etc).
Look around to all computer sellers, they have already done
BTW . . .even modding (intended as heatsinks, fans etc) seems a good deal today.
Good luck :-)

Red's shutting down? Sad to see. :-(
-
a realy sad day.. May Red get the best of luck!
-
:-( I though you were selling PC stuff at the same time...
-

Sorry to see the business closing down. I just bought a Bhudda Gold card from the list and now I remeber why I hate Pay Pal so much. All I wanted to do was pay with my credit card and I have to spend 10 minutes farting around with Pay Pal screens, creating accounts, making passwords only to be told that my credit card was already assigned to another account (must have been when I bought some motorcycle parts ages ago) and then had to bugger around with a differnt credit card. Arrrggghh!!!
Anyway, I got it :-)

there's a Pegasos for sale! :-o
-
Always a bad day for the Amiga when more resellers disappear..

I've bid for it. Hope you manage to keep the business afloat Red.
-
@Red
It's gutting to see this news :-( I hope it works out for you.
-
This was expected.

@ itix
I remember a couple of weeks ago when this was told to us, but it's one thing to be told of a pending closure and another to see it actually occurring. If you know what I mean.
-
@Bodie
Lets hope Red can still continue. But in general selling HW for classic Amigas is dead business (soon). Peg or A1 sales are not helping much either (supply problems, problematic state of both OS'es, etc etc).

Aye! I'll drink to that. He's a great seller, and more importantly, a great personality. Wish we had more people of his ilk in the community.
But in general selling HW for classic Amigas is dead business (soon).
Perhaps an expanded product range (ie. x86 products, or even classic Mac products) would help? Don't know though... I see, honestly I do, his predicament.

I believe that this is up to us as individual users coming together to make up this community. Healthy competition (I've said this so many times, I bet I bore people to death!) is a plus for both MOS and AOS4. The flamewarring gets nowhere... I believe that we have lost so much opportunity over the last two years especially, due to the constant bickering. Maybe our parents should get us to deal with our petty infighting, or maybe we should all attend "Anger Management Clsses"! :-P

Hey guys, cheer up:-) We were just small potatoes. I do appreciate all the kind words. I mostly had alot of fun and we did o-k, we're not bancrupt or anything. Just time to move on for various reasons. Some obvious, some not so obvious.
Cheers :pint:

LOL!
Years ago before Anachronism Industries I used to sell on and off on eBay, and i actually had a "Wife making me clean the closet sale", or something along those lines. Where did you did that up? Google Groups?
-
I'm not married yet, however I do fear the day, in terms of what to do with all that extra hardware that I have lying around. :nervous:

You do what I did, make a "lab" in the garage. I only have 2 Amigas in the house right now, the A1200 and my CD32 in the closet. The rest are destined to stay outside until we find a house with a "game room". :-(
-
adolescent : my CD32 in the closet ?? What kind of monitor do you use there ?? Is your closet so spacy then ??? :-o

I remember that you announced that you were going to get rid of all your Amiga-stuff, just because your wife wanted you to sell "all that crap" off. Tonnes of cables, joystick, and stuff, IIRC. :-)
-
Well, good luck to redrumloa to his next project :-)
If you are im selling business again as a mac dealer I could say you that you can keep a profitable work and a healthy business with apple products :-)
The price you gave to me for the crystalls are perfect I will just wait to bid on some of your stuff to help the clearance!!!
I hope not to loose you from amiga.org
Best wishes.
-
So that's where you found the crystals! :-)
Storm, make sure that you get enough of them. :-)
HAIL to Redrumloa|aolmurdeR!
Good luck in your next business!

Heh, nothing so fancy. It's just stored there when not in use. I pull it out and hook it to the tv when I need it.

BTW, I bid on a few things. Red, is this the last of your stock?
-

Mostly yes. I still have some more items to list, but of new stuff definately. I was planning on spending the entire day listing to eBay but unfortunately my wife and kids got struck with a stomach virus.. AARGH terrible timing.. What I have left to post are some crystals, an A3000D, and A4000D, a few keyboards and some nic-nacs amd so forth. Oh yeah debating about posting some goodies like an entire catalog of Amiga repair manuals.
-
Hi, I"m new to this site...I have an amiga 4000 and I'm trying to bring it back to life so I may use the videotoaster...it has an accelerator..My question is where can I get the OS 3.0 disks ? Thanks in advance , Louie
