Going to a friend's birthday party tonight, and I know its gonna get messy :nervous:
:pint:
-
Whoopee. I screwed my back up this morning just in time for the weekend. :-(
-
Ouch Chris!
How'd you manage to do that?
-
Buhhh, moving up a 100 metre roll of fabric on my own. It was one of those borderline cases, too tiny looking to ask for help with but too heavy to move safely on my own. I got this nasty twinge as I put it down, but I think I'm okay. Just a little uncomfortable and paranoid. :-)
-
oh, sweetie!
I wish I was there to rub the pain out of you!
lie down on the floor and roll around. do some yoga.
think pleasant thoughts :idea: :knuddel:

*arses*
Hope you feel better soon.
-
Thanks dudes... And ettes thereof. ;-)
I'm feeling much better this morning. Now I have to find something to do with myself. Something not involving socks. What are you guys up to? :-)
(How was the party, Adam?)
-
Good to hear that, Chris.
Well. I'm planning to do some long outstanding coding work (my own stuff, not from work) as this is my day off :-)
More than likely I'll just end up lazing about and doing very little. Might see about knocking some choons together - assuming my synths PSU behaves itself (I'm not entirely sure it isn't the thing itself overheating inside somewhere but I'm reluctant to open it).
-edit-
Gah, it went again. I still don't know if it's the PSU or the unit. Neither ever feel particularly warm.
-
@Karlos
What are you coding on? I was thinking about getting myself Devpac 3, i heard it was pretty decent. Wouldn't mind seeing what i can do with it. The last time i coded was a few years ago (on C64!).I can only do simple stuff, but hey i'm proud of it! :-D
Regards,
-EDIT-
I made a Donkey Kong clone in C64 BASIC a few years ago, using ASCII characters. It was bugged to hell, but i was very proud of it. :-D
-
@CU
Right at this very moment : stormgcc (C++ mode) & phxass...
I'm getting some old storm C3 C++ sources cleaned up ready for gcc migration and generally tinkering with some wacky ideas at the same time.
My bloody synths PSU is being an arse (at least I hope its the PSU), so the choons went out of the window ;-)
-
@Karlos
When you say "at this very moment" do you mean you are going to code later or never!;-)

Well, thanks to owning a KVM switch I mean right now. Some stuff is building as I write this - I'm just waiting for one or more of the sources to fail to compile, whereupon my system will issue a beep, I can double tap the scroll lock key and return to my amiga desktop to see what the beef was :-)
-edit-
Mmmm, smells like my food is ready too :-)
-
I miss programming. Nowhere near enough time for it these days... Or rather, my time's so fractured that I can't really get "in the zone", so to speak.
-

Slacking!
I will probably spend most of my weekend getting my Amiga up and running again. The most enduring problem i have is getting all my backed up stuff from my old HD and CD's to my new HD. I have done the hardest part of setting the filesystem, partitions, master/slave settings (when using old HD and CD-ROM Drive). Thanks goodness for backups! :-)
Regard,
-
@CU_AMiGA
You know UAE is ideal for backup work. I used it to transfer my older HD to a new one by directly mounting both HD's on the secondary IDE on my PC :-)
-
@Karlos
I don't have a PC at home, i have an iMac. And, as you know, MacUAE is about as useful as Pub without the booze and crisps! :-)
-
Ah :-/
To be honest, that's how I feel about Macs 99% of the time :-D
-
Mac are okay. They are good enough for me to do college work and play a few games, nothing too flash. But the thing that bother me with Macs is the fact that most of the files that would be free on PC, Amiga you have to pay shareware fee on Macs.
-
I find tons of things annoying about them, but that's likely a result of being forced to use them at work :-)
On a totally different topic, is anybody experiencing problems with ICQ at the moment? I seem to be connecting and disconnecting at random....
-
I was on there a minute ago. No problems here.....

Oh God no. Please don't do that.

FRIIIIDAAAYY!
Is once again upon us, sadly I fear my weekend may turn out to be a downer, I've already been off work for two days with a nasty infection in my toe, all I can do is wait and see.

Only just noticed this reply...
Twas okay, always good to see lots of old friends - as a lot of us live in different places now, some with manacles, I mean girlfriends, some with jobs that take most of their time, even one with a child, birthdays are one of the few times we all get together.
The curry we had was bloody awful though. I shan't be going there again :pissed:
I went home at midnight, some people went on to a club. I'm glad I didn't, because I spoke to people saying how they'd be throwing up all of Saturday....
-
@ ADZ
Yup, toes, they'll get ya if they can. I have sympathy for you, especially since I once ripped both toenails off my big toes playing squash in the wrong shoes. I didn't really know what I had done until I tried to take my socks off and found I couldn't. They were gummed onto my toes with all the blood.
-
/me shivers
I once got a heavy steel pipe dropped on my right foot. My poor big toe can't move ever since; the joint was crushed, and I never realised that until it had turned "stiff" (Pardon my bad medical English). :-(

Yep. I think the time has come for me to make a return to clubbing. I haven't been since early summer (which is very long for me). Haven't really been clubbing much this year compared to last, but i still go pubbing a lot! :-) I will probably make a return to clubbing at Christmas, it is always good at that time. I always have birds coming up to me and greating the ever famous CU_AMiGA.

That was years ago. Besides the fact that I can't move my toe unless I do it with my hand, I don't suffer from it.
Thanks anyway! :\

Doesn't interfere with your sock... I mean, sex life? :-D

I can't bend the fingers on my right hand back as far as the ones on my left hand. Which I think is from punching walls. :-(

It truly is a wonderful friday! I just found out: In eight months I'll be a father! :-)

Oh no punkie, you can't do that. :-( Actually, i have a mate that used to do that, he had a very short fuse if someone pissed him about. I remember at high school, some little gobby chav wound him up so bad he put his fist through a window. That didn't really serve any purpose, he had to go hospital, he had a bill to pay, and the biggest insult his he still had that git on his back.
EDIT
Actually also, i read on your site punkie, that you used to get tuanted at, etc. Just asking, whether you was ever tempted into beating the crap out of them (but obviously this isn't everyone's answer). I found that teachers did bugger all in situations.

Of course they don't, they get grief from the same kids during lessons. But no, I can't fight for s**t.
-
Awww, congratulations Connie
A :pint: is definitely in order....
Children are so magical, I don't have a child myself, but my god-daughter can brighten my day like nothing else....
All the best for the future :-)
