and yes, its very nice :-) although it annoys me slightly that many of you constantly slag off the Mac yet rip it off all the time

@HopperJF
Eeew! you mentioned the M word!
How dare you!! :pissed:
:-P :-D :lol:
Seriously though, I somehow doubt that those that hate the look and feel of the Mac would emulate it. The ones that do copy its style are the ones that probably don't mind Macs, so it seems you are barking up the wrong tree as they say.
Now stop getting annoyed over nothing. :roll: :smack:

Thanks!
... i love Macs... but what ripoff? The icons? The icons are from the Ne's Icons package on OS4Depot.net
THEY ARE GLOW NOT PNGs :-D Really cool!
Thanks again.

I don't see the "Mac look" in that screenshot. It looks much more Amiga like. Can those icons be used on OS3.9 + RTG? I'm looking for a good/non-PNG icon set for my classic.

Hum,
impressive.
Though (personally) i did find the look of ikir-39tech.jpg (http://ikir.iksnet.it/grab/ikir-39tech.jpg)
to be more appealing...

As a developer foced to use mac hardware by an unforgiving "creative" employer, I hereby reserve the right to slag of Macintosh at every possible convenience and dispell the continued mac users misguided beliefs that it is the best thing since sliced bread :-P

The drive icons are the default Mac OS X drive icons.
Nice screenshot.

Dude... you really like dark text on dark backgrounds! Try using some CSS in your web pages so people can actually, y'know, see stuff. :-)

Do you at least have the blessing to use OS X? I was responsible for upgrading a whole office and their server from System7 to OS 8, and I have never, ever wanted to use a Mac again since.

Yup. Does anyone know if those icons belong to Apple or are they stock photos? Just about every OS4 screenshot I've seen has either those hard drive icons, other icons ripped from KDE, or both.
I still like the folder icons used in every other OS, rather than the file cabinets in OS4. They look so old and klunky.

@Lando
Ok, I'll concede that. But, a single icon doesn't constitute "ripping" off the Mac's look. I can see if there were toolbars, gadgets, frames, font, etc. that looked the same.

Actually me thinks it looks like a Linux disk Icon I have had for years. The icon came from an X11 icon set for Unix. And as Mac ripped off its desk top from Linux (old aqua desktop for X11 KDE) it is hard to say if it is pro Mac or Pro Linux rip off :)

Thanks to all for positive feedback and suggestion :-)

My personal page is dark :-) It is not an error :-)
The IT website is here: http://www.iksnet.it
ABOUT THE ICONS:
They need OS4 (256 colors indipendent palette) or Power Icons (they aren't png, but to display them correctly on OS3.9 you need Power Icons anyway). Ken is working now on program's icons.
To download the icons www.os4depot.net (ken's icons).
THANKS AGAIN:
