Title: Help! How can change a bad screenmode ?
Post by: Alma96 on November 18, 2004, 12:20:03 PM
Hello,

As topic said, I would like to get back to a NTSC or PAL screenmode when my A2000 boots.

I use P96 but I've saved in the screenmode prefs a screenmode with a too high sync frequency. I've tried it before, and it worked, but after a cold reboot, it seems my monitor doesn't manage to sync on it, and the screen remains blank. How can I get back to NTSC ? Is there a prefs file to edit ? For the moment, I can only boot with the 3.9 Emergency disk... :-?

Thank for your help,

Can you break the startup-sequence and get a visual output? If so, you can just delete the screenmode.prefs file in ENVARC:SYS and reboot.

Boot from the emergency disk *or* hold both mousebuttons to enter bootmenu and select boot with no startup-sequence.

in shell:
delete yoursys:prefs/env-archive/sys/screenmode.prefs
reboot
