Hello,
I have an A3000 with twin floppy drives. One is supposed to be the High Density drive (1.76Meg of storage) but I don't remembe which is which. Can someone tell me the designations of the drives so I know which one is which? Thanks.

If you look inside the front of the drive, you should see little posts sticking up, the low density drive should only have this on the left hand side, the high density should have it on both sides. These posts determine if the disk is write protected (left side) and if it is double density(880k) or high density(1.74m) (right side).
Hope this helps

This should help. thank you.
There are also stickers on the bottom of the drives. They say Chinon xxxx and Chinon xxxxA where the x = a number(sorry, I don't have the machine fully apart at the moment so I can't look up the numbers). Does anyone know thos designations?

A 354 is DD, A 357A is HD if memory serves me well...

The A3000 HD floppy (assuming it is original) should be model FB-357A.
