Cute girl. St00pid project. If we stop fishing then humanity would starve. Sad but true.

...arguing that fish — contrary to stereotype — are intelligent, sensitive animals no more deserving of being eaten than a pet dog or cat.
Sure! A gold fish supposedly has a 3 second memory (or something... ;).

Why not eat cat and dog? ;-) This kind of reminds me of when I was stepping on ants in front of a Buddist :)

Imagine if retards like this got into power...
If they had any reasonable political influence that's actually not too difficult to imagine. Just replace 'GreenPeace' with 'PETA'.

@whabang
She'd be nice if she lost a bit of weight. But she'd be no good as a GF, she seems like she's had too much oral sex!! :-x

Loose weight?!?!?! Please, lagom is the best! :-)
And when did oral sex turn into a bad thing? ;-)

Well, it is true that fish are far typically more intelligent than they're stereotyped to be, but then again most animals we commonly eat are. Fish is a staple source of protien for much of the world.

Huh!?

Actually, our oceans are in a perilous state due to over-fishing.  Cod stocks are very low and we're putting a great deal of pressure on the marine ecosystem.

Heavy industrial runoff from the former Soviet bloc is causing massive pollution in arctic waters and as we're top of the food chain we're going to ingest plenty of heavy metals, PCBs etc...

I haven't eaten fish for years.

That's a myth I'm afraid.  I'll dig up info on that later on today - I know exactly where it is, it's just getting to it that's the problem :-D

you are talking about a guy that can't get laid because he's "boring".

which translates (in this case) to mean that he's not capable of satisfying any girl with oral sex - or any other kind, for that matter.
of course, he's angry. :roflmao:

Maybe if IAMA resorted to "Look, I'm angry and boring but I do oral sex" as an opening line he might get some results?

"No one would ever put a hook through a dog's or cat's mouth," said Bruce Friedrich, PETA's director of vegan outreach. "Once people start to understand that fish, although they come in different packaging, are just as intelligent, they'll stop eating them."

Just cos a dog or cat's intelligent, doesn't stop people from eating them, well maybe here in Scotland, but go East and you can find them on the menu easily... what are these people talking about???

Fair enough, they don't put hooks through dogs or cats mouths - but most fish aren't caught like that anyway.

IMO the practice of cathing fish just for the catch is plain stupid. If you go fishing you eat the fish, not throw it back. I'm also highly annoyed by those stupid fishing programs on Discovery and stuff, the guys with a big grin 'LOOK AT WHAT WE  COUGHT, LET'S GIVE IT A KISS MATE' and they go on discussing and the fish just lies there gasping for fresh water to get some oxygen in their blood. :-X.

IYA pleasure fishing stands on the same moral level as shooting deer (or whatever), bandaging their wounds and setting em free.

However, the conditions our cattle/sheep/pigs/chickens are being kept in is much more appaling than 'pleasure fishing'.

PETA is pretty ridiculous. It's no wonder people refer to vegetarians as retards (cheers, Iama) when their campaigns are so f**king melodramatic. It's like "Hey, I'm gonna eat your mum! How d'ya like that! Go veggie!!"

I know of a couple of people who've been swayed somewhat by PETA but on the whole they seem to be more effective at strengthening anti-vegetarian feeling (which is based mostly in a distaste for the more preachy members of the vegetarian community... Why someone would care otherwise about somebody else's diet, I don't know.)

What's the worst part of oral sex?

Well, I stumbled upon the magazine by accident, so here it is:

Icthyologists have known for a long time this isn't true [memory being short], and in 2003 Dr Phil Gee, of the School of Psychology at the University of Plymouth, published research which blew it out of the water.  Fish have a memory span of at least three months, and can distinguish between different shapes, colours and sounds.  In the Plymouth experiments, goldfish were trained to press a lever to gain a food reward; when the lever was fixed to only work for an hour a day, the fish soon learned to activate it at the correct time.  A number of studies has shown that farmed fish can be easily trained to feed at particular times and places, in response to an audible signal.
