When Doom 3 was announced, they told us that they might have to wait with the release until PCs caught up.
Still, some crazy SOB just managed to get playable framerates with a Voodoo2 SLI-setup! :-o

Im surprised nobody has pointed out that both the A1 and Pegasos have voodoo drivers supporting more powerful voodoo cards than those used to make these screenshots.
It would seem that (albeit minus all that loverly shading) doom3 is feasable for amiga1/peg at least ;-)

Don't forget the 2GHz processor backing it up helps just a tad. ;)
Maybe I need to bust out my SLI setup and see what my 1.8GHz can do.

@adolescent
Even so, assuming that a 1GHz G4 fully altivec optimised version could only calculate half the polygons (and frankly I'd expect an optimised version could do better than that), youd still get up to 30fps if those shots are any guide.
Don't forget that doom3 is comparively low polygon - almost all of the detail is in the bumpmapping. Stripped of all of that and you have a managable level of detail.
