My firefox (0.9) keeps moaning that it has a securityflaw and that I should upgrade...

I'm terrible for not getting round to upgrading things. Until a few months ago, I was still using Firebird

I let the Girl Friend use my computer the other day, can back to find a whole bunch of spyware programs (webhelpers, search assistants etc..) had installed themselves!

How does she do it!?!?!? I had managed to keep the machine clean for 6 months... :-(

It's called "click without brain engaged and hope for the best".

I'm using the 1.0 pre release which I think is way better than 1.0 (although it doesn't look quite as nice).  I tried 1.0, but it was noticably slower than the pr... go figure.

Interesting thing a guy does here at work:
He uses  VMWARE (http://www.vmware.com/) to run a virtual XP and runs his browser out of that --  very interesting (and performance is pretty good -- somewhere around 1.5GHz w/ 1GB of ram on his Laptop)...

Rebuilds just that vmware virtual system when necessary (with a ghost image ).
Really works out well..
(at my company --we use VMWARE for product testing  -- I like it a lot !  )

I wouldn't be surprised if someone was working on it, but I doubt the classic 680x0 systems could realistically be supported.

The first job would be to port the NSPR. Hell, even my own C++ framework provides a not insignificant section of the required functionality, but not the networking stuff.

Hopefully now www.localhost.be will get some peace from all those misconfigured earlier versions of Mozilla and Firefox that links users there when browsing on a LAN. :)

Running V1.0 now, and its head and shoulders above 0.9, superb, and next month, I'll consider upgrading BeOS to V1.0 as atm its running a hybrid of 0.8 and 0.9a...

And hopefully before Yule, I'll be getting a decent CPU cooler (Hiper6 to be exact)... Athlon64's cook, and the default cooler is all but useless.

And with a lot of luck, a brand new desk :-D

Just running 1.0 now having upgraded from 0.9.3 last night.

Strangely it told me that my adblock and web developer extensions were not compatible and would be disabled. It then proceeded to check for newer versions of these extensions, failed and failed to find any.

Yet, here I am with the same web dev toolbar (which seems to work as it always did) and the same adds being blocked :-)

Even 0.8 was compared to Safari :-P

(speaking from the developer side, that is)
