Good evening,
It has been a long & happy relationship but now I have my A1 onboard my A1200 has sadly had less say in the matter. She has served me well :boohoo:
As the subject suggests, I am shortly going to be putting some of her upgrades onto eBay. I don't know which items to bundle together as yet:
- Mediator PCI 1200 including the Multimedia upgrade & the latest drivers.
I have been using the following cards with the Mediator that will go up too:
- 10/100 Ethernet card
- Soundcard (I forget the name but it's SoundBlaster compatable)
- Blizzard 1260/50 with 256mb RAM
- Further 16mb & 32mb SIMMs that were previously used with the Blizzard
- Blizzard SCSI IV kit for the B1260
& if I can disconnect the bugger:
- Power Flyer 1200 Mk II Gold
If there's anything else in there I have forgot I'll let you all know.
I will always remember my Classic roots.
FuZion.

Hi
I am after a Blizzard 1260. How much are you looking for the Blizzard 1260 (with or without 128meg RAM)? Please discuss before you put on dreaded ebay.
Regards,

From Australia
would really be interested in the power flyer (IF) you
are interested in pre e-bay selling !
(and possibly the mediator /sound and ethernet system )
let me know if you want to sell
amigaly yours.

As an aside, I find it gives me a great deal of satisfaction to sell privately, as it always seems as if the stuff's going to a good home etc.
But I've found when I have tried selling stuff on Amibench, fo example, there are some right cretins on there, who will try and browbeat you into selling stuff for next to nothing, or even be downright abusive (there was some guy called haemarrhoid or something that I particularly remember). Has anyone else encountered this?

often on ebay, tahre are some lamers that raise the value of goods to an insane price... Last week an a1200 030@50 accelerator ended at 115euro... not to mention a 1260 ending at ~350.... I wish I had a couple of flickerfixers, they go up to 120+ euro... then I could afford a NEW 1260 from vesalia, ~250euro.... I just cannot understand how some people think...
-
@Keropi
I can understand how this might seem strange.
You mention that a 1260 board ended at 350 EURO on ebay and you can buy a new one from Vesalia for 250 EURO. Here is my wild guess; the 1260 you saw on ebay was most likely a Blizzard 1260 produced by Phase5 and the 1260 at Vesalia is most likely an Apollo 1260.
The Blizzard boards are imho better build cards, and since almost everyone prefer a Blizzard board for their A1200 it's most likely a common thought about the Blizzard brand.
A Phase5 Blizzard 1260 is in fact better than a DCE Blizzard 1260, eventhough it should be identical cards. The Phase5 boards can be deactivated with a keypress, the DCE boards can't.
The Apollo boards a good boards as well, but I would at any point prefer a Blizzard board instead of an Apollo board, even though it would cost me a bit more, so the wild prices on eBay might not actually be so wild afterall, but more an indication of a well reputated company with quality products.

lol, the auction I was reffering to was for : APOLLO 1260 68060@50 A1200 ... but even for a blizzard 350 is TOO much, u only get 50mhz cpu, and only for "emotional" reasons... I hope u understand what I mean...
-
Hoya!
Although I do not have money at the moment, I am STILL looking for a Blizzard 060@50... I have not used my Ammy since February and I DO need a GODAMN FIX!!!!!
Sucks.
Be funky

yeah its really TOO much, I got a phase5 rev2 csppc for less on ebay, including 96MB ram and shipping..

Its worse than a blizzard, and like doctorq already said the phase5 blizzard1260 is the best 060 card out there..

I can agree that 350 EURO is too much; that is what I gave for my BlizzardPPC with 68060 and 200 MHz and scsi controller. Some might say that it was stupid to pay that much even for a Blizzard PPC, but if people want something nice, they tend to pay overprice.
Instead of paying 200 EURO for a Viper board I would rather try to pick up a Blizzard 1260 produced by Phase5 on eBay. I don't think you will be able to put a scsi controller on the Viper like the Blizzard can, and the Vipers max mem is 64; the Blizzard can take 128 MB, 256 MB with the SCSI controller.
@rayt
Congrats on the CSPPC :) Always nice to get a top board. Still looking for the possibility to use my own....

350e for ppc/060 and scsi and ram is an acceptable price :-) and I consider it a good deal! I envy you... :-D

Everyone looking for amiga hardware should check out ebay.de from time to time, the prices are usually much lower than in other countries, and often they also ship into eu countries if you ask. I for example sold my mediator1200 on ebay.de to someone from greece without a problem.

lol I was joking dude! :-)
My Phase 5 Blizzard 1260 is a revision 1 version. I paid £170 for:
Blizzard 1260 (Phase 5 Revision 1)
SCSI Interface (DCE 2000)
2x128meg RAM
I think that it is a pretty decent deal isn't it? I was wondering whether this revision is the best and whether i will have any compatibility trouble with my A1200 mobo (1D4), as i have yet to test it properly yet (i am waiting for my HD and other bits and bobs to come in).

All my ebay stuff (except a couple of cables and joypad) came from German users. I have a very high opinion about Germans and NEVER had any problem with anyone, when we agree to something it happens and everything I have received was in great condition. When I want something I always wait a little in case it is available on .de ...
