Title: New Ape
Post by: blobrana on October 07, 2004, 02:04:51 PM
Hum,
an elusive giant ape has been spotted in remote forests in central Africa, sparking theories that it could be a new species of primate -- a finding that would be the most astonishing wildlife discovery in decades.
From the rare eyewitness sightings, bone discoveries and a video recording, the animals have large, black faces, and slightly taller than Bush, and weigh between 85kg and 102kg.

IAMA, they're on to you... (just kidding fella!)

Seriously though, it's thought provoking.  How long have these apes been living there quietly going about their lives without the civilised world knowing of their existence.

Let's hope they're allowed to live their lives in peace, free from poaching and human interference.

I can just imagine the conversation the next morning:

"You know I was so battered last night I can't even remember your name?"

"Oo-oo-oo!"

Actually, thinking about it, Gorillas and Chimps are highly sophisticated and intelligent primates, and are capable of abstract thought and complex social interaction.

If you've ever seen the High Street of my home town at 01:30 on a Saturday morning then you'll appreciate the irony of the last paragraph...
