Title: Installing Dpaint IV AGA to hard disk
Post by: srg86 on October 01, 2004, 08:24:23 AM
Hi

I found an ADF of DPaintIV AGA and though it would be good untill I can get hold of a proper copy (seem relativly rare on ebay). Anyway I wrote the image to disk and it runs fine but I'm having trouble getting it on my hard drive. If I drag the disk icon to my app partition then try to run dpaint I get 'Unable to open your tool 'dpaint''. But it still runs from the floppy even after booting from my hard disk.

There was one way I got it to work which was extract all the files from the image using ADFOpus and then copy the files to the drawer vire Amiga Explorer BUT my Amiga just crashes with #87000004

thanks
srg

P.S. Hopefully I'll have more luck with a proper copy if I can get hold of one, and no I don't want PPaint.

Greetings srg86,

Have you tried to copy the font of deluxe paint disk to your hdd fonts:? Also try to copy some library files as well, just to be sure. Hope that helps. :-)

Regards,

Gizz

I'll try that. It's just that I'm getting crash after crash after crash with this Amiga on this hard disk and they've only came about in the last week.

Did you try writing it to a floppy and typing:
"copy df0: dh0:DPaintIV ALL" from CLI?

worth a shot...

Perhaps you have to run an ASSIGN command before you can run it from your HD?
