Title: Toshiba laptop fault
Post by: _ZooL_ on September 23, 2004, 11:50:36 PM
I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but.... I have just won an auction for a Toshiba Satellite S1800-400 which is described as having the following fault (I haven't actually got the item yet, btw):

The screen is perfectly ok, but the switch that turns the screen light off when the unit is shut has become faulty meaning the screen only stays lit for a while. when you depress the switch the screen flickers back on, im sure all that needs to be done is for the switch to be bypassed or replaced and it will be fine

Does anyone have one of these (or similar) laptop and could tell me where the switch is exactly? Is it on the screen or on the base? And if this is going to be an easy fix? I'm good with a soldering iron, if that helps! Any help would be appreciated.
