Figured it would be a good idea to at least say hi.
hmmm a bit about me lets see...
female, 24 soon, from scotland currently in birmingham uk.
A1200 fan if only me power pack would stay online more than 5 mins without crashing it I'd be happy.
Into a lot of stuff including webdesign and graphics, reading, canoeing, swimming - just ask I can be more specific and I love to make friends so if you want to chat just let me know.
not sure what else to put so I guess that'll do for now

Doppel post
edit:
I'll make this post less redundant - when you say the PSU doesn't stay online for more than 5 mins without crashing, what exactly do you mean? Is the A1200 expanded? Its quite common for A1200 to have power problems after the addition of an accelerator, an additional HD or CD-ROM, etc, because the PSU supplied with it is woefully underpowered. Many people resort to using an old A500 PSU or towering the machine.
Or is it just a case of the PSU being dodgy?

Welcome to Amiga Org. Hope you enjoy your stay, its a very friendly place.
Heh, I wouldn't have mentioned the fact that you're female - seems a lot of the guys on this board don't get out much :-P Just ask Blobrana, another female Scot on the board...

Hey Thinktank,
Welcome to A.org, I hope your stay here is entertaining AND informative. Most people here seem like a thoroughly decent bunch so I'm sure you'll encounter some interesting characters!
If you need some advice re your power supply then you're in the right place here...

hi thinktank
welcome
i hope you can get that power suply sorted out
i have about 6 of the 500 ones here spare but ime in Australia may someone close by you could help you out with it the A1200 power supplies were very week

I think the connections inside the unit are loose you cna switch it on and leave it then it just dies on you it'll power up again but it's annoying makes it impossible to use the a1200 for anything.
it's not expanded it was a standard a1200 I've had it from new but it's currently boxed cause I couldn't get anywhere with sorting the powerpack out.

I'll have a look and see if I've got a spare PSU - I'm moving house at the moment, so it'll soon become apparent if I do. If I've got one you can have it for cost of postage.
-
Hi thinktank, welcome and good luck with your A1200 :-D
