hello,
2 day ago, my hd ibm 9gb scsi2 is dead, maybe.
I istalled pfs3 file system and for 5 year i not have any problem.
Now, my workbench (3.9) don't recognize device.
With hdtoolbox i see correct id on 2060scsi.device
I get also rdb. If I try any thing with hdtoolbox and i save i get "error 7 on descriptor drive".
Gasp! A error message like Mac :(
Please help me.

If your HD is 5 years old, maybe it is actually failing?? In which case, you may have to buy a new HD.
-
yeah,
but what is "error 7 on descriptor drive"?
-
Error 7 from HDToolbox (hdwrench.library) is "scsi_command_failure". If that helps.
Bye,
Thomas

Agreed, sounds like the disk has died, or at least done something real nasty.
I've also been using PFS3 for years with no problems at all.
Time to break out that CD backup you carefully made the other day...
What do you mean "What backup?"!!!
-
OK,
now I started pfsdoctor_16 and I searched for file system.
Recovery tool has founded pfs3 file system.
I selected check and repair and i get 62 error
with no fix.
Errors concerning node allocated but not in use.
While pfdoctor_16 is scanning hd, i see all files of my
hd.
Then it's possible make a recover,maybe.
Any idea?

Copy your most important stuff to a CD or floppies.
Once you have done this, remove the HD.
When you have the HD out, place it on a solid surface and using a 1kg hammer, procede to smash it flat.
Continue to smash the old HD flat until you have it flat enough to fit into a mail slot.
Buy another HD.
Install.
Copy your important stuff to your new HD.
If you follow these instructions, you will be VERY happy!!!!!!!!!
