Title: Advanced search proggy?
Post by: scholle on September 19, 2004, 12:05:11 AM
Hiya!

Does anyone know a search program, that could look up not only specified files in a given path, but also search a string of characters in every file within the path?

Greetings,

Scholle

OS 3.9's 'Search' function does that (can be found in the 'Window' menu).

Pretty much every file manager should be able to that aswell (DOpus 4 Opus Magellan...).

There are {bleep}loads of CLI and WB utilities for that task on Aminet SimpleFind, SRename...

OS 3.9 standard function! Geez! I must be getting old. That's the way it goes when you don't change your user behaviour for years!

Thanks, mate!

C:Search
(standard OS 2.0-3.9 at least, probably 1.x too)

Examples:
Code: [Select]

1> Search path:to/search all quiet "find THIS" case
1> Search path:to/search all quiet "foo#?" pattern
