Title: My AGA's gone GAGA!
Post by: JaXanim on February 09, 2003, 05:50:41 PM
I've an 1200T/Z4/P4/060/64Mb which has started messing
up whenever I run any AGA stuff.

The P4 screens are perfect, but AGA stuff is now a
multicolored whirlygig mess!

I suspect there might be a bad connection somewhere
but where do I start?

Cheers,

JaXanim

1)
Thats a common problem with PicassoIV. If you try to use your tv modulator and connect your TV to it, I doupt it will happend.

The reason for this is for the most P4's scandoubler wich aint really stable. Especially when it gets warm.

2)
Another problem can be if you've installed AmigaOS v3.9 BoingBag2. Degrade to BoingBag1 is recommended, as BB2 aint good for Classic Amiga systems. Its rather a update for Amithlon. BB2 also crashes with my delfina.library and so on.

I hope this helps... Take Care..

I have blown out the amiga side of my P4 a while ago, thats why I got
a spectrum with an external scan doubler / flicker fixer & added
another monitor. This makes it simple, spectrum w/auto switch on 17",
P4 on 19". It's, well, unique.;)

@AmiDelf

I think you got it in one!

I've just stripped out the cards and the Flicker Fixer
connections for the PIV were decidedly suspect.
Anyway I cleaned them up and made sure they went
fully home and 'Bingo!' - all's back as it should be.

I'm most grateful for your help.
Please go to the Top of the Class!
