Hi,
I'm experiencing alot of crashes on my new A1200.
Errors like Corrupted mem list or something keeps coming up.
I wondered if anybody knows a good ram testing program.
-
I've wondered this myself but haven't come across a RAM tester
software kit for Amiga as yet.
Type me the codes on your SIMMs chips and I'll try to decipher what
you have and if it's likely to cause you trouble.
Also,give these programs a try:

Sys-Speed

SysInfo
http://ftp.uni-paderborn.de/pub/aminet/util/moni/SysInfo.lha
ShowMem
http://ftp.uni-paderborn.de/pub/aminet/util/moni/ShowMem.lha
Your last resort would be to get a SimCheck2 memory module tester.
They go on eBay for about 70 Euros maybe.
And avoid EDO - pick FPM!
:-D :-D :-D

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. After looking on aminet I found some memory testers. One called amnesia seemed to work pretty well since it was able to detect a broken simm I installed.
The simm I use normally was good and so was the chipmemory.
(Tip: always keep a broken simm around to test your ram tester :-P )
Anyway the problem seems to have been solved. A memory patch intended fot RTG systems was switched on while I have no RTG. This currupted my chipmem.
So I won't bother you with chip codes.
Thanks for the offer anyway.
