Title: Flyer ATA3 not good.......

Well, as I posted before, I am having boot problems with my A1200 060.
Seems that I need to solder a resistor to the part of the ATA controller that sits atop the Gayle chip.
This is unexpected.
I have formatted all partitions and reinstalled OS 3.9 to workbench.
Still won't boot.
Time to break out the heat gun!! :flame:

What's that supposed to accomplish? I never had to do anything like that with the Power Flyer gold in my 1200.

If you check the manual, it has a section titled "Gayle Alert!"
Apparantly there are times, such as I have now, that require adjusting the signal from the Gayle chip to the ATA controller. In this case I will take the easy and less risky option of soldering a 33ohm resistor to the "little board of the PowerFlyer that goes on top of the Gayle chip"
The other option is to solder on the motherboard. Not if I don't have to!!!!
I have a "new" A1200 and don't know the revision.
They wouldn't have put this in the manual if it never happened.
That's OK though, I like tearing into computers!! :-)
