Replaced the battery, reinstalled the os, run setbatt to fix the scsi amnesia, and am reinstalling programs. Hope it all works now.

My 3000 also had a leaking battery.  Was causing some Amber issues, I cleaned it up and she works fine now.  I just have to remove the MB and place a new battery in her now!  Did you remove the MB to install the batt?

I removed the MB in mine, since I was getting the INT-2 hack done as well.  It is easier to get the battery replaced with the mobo out, but I think it is not necessary.

Congrats on getting your 3000 resurrected, I just finished putting my CSPPC one back together last week :-)

*edit* and doing the battery in the 3000UX once I get the next replacement from Red...

Easier to solder on the MB without the chassis in the way.

Before I dismantled the system, a trace in the MB burnt. I thought it was done for but the A3000 kept running for a few minutes before I shut it down and stripped it apart. Luckly the trace that burnt was short and not in the middle of other stuff. Cleaned up the burnt area and soldered a new wire in it's place. Didn't take a pic after I fixed it but here's one before.

So far so good...

hmmm   Guess this should have been posted in the hardware forum... :hat:
