Mistakenly posted in the wrong forum. Sorry.
As if the poor English middle-classes haven't suffered enough under the New-Labour-Tax regime, it turns out that the Scottish Parliament Building which has now cost £431m (£400m over budget) has been paid for by British taxpayers, 80% of whom aren't Scottish.
I also see that the campaign for a North-East regional assembly (another layer of expensive talking shop) are already planning where to build their new Assembly building! Why not use an empty building? There are plenty of them thanks to Blair encouraging the north-south divide. And all this is before any referendum on whether the project should go ahead has taken place.
Democracy, New Labour style.

I recognize the most of the words in this post, but none of the meaning.
Maybe you got the wrong web site?
-edit-
If you are ever in Newcastle, WA., try Yea's Wok. They are excellent, and tax is 8.9%, I think.

Hmmm, nothing like coffeehouse politics, is there?
Don't be so hard on the government, we all know the world needs more politicians ... and lawyers.
:-D

Ooops. Sorry, I've posted this here instead of CH/Politics. I've reposted it there and I've edited out the post here too.
