Title: Squeeze Box - OS4 support?
Post by: Housey on August 31, 2004, 11:11:25 PM
Hi,

I haven't posted for a long time but felt the need now as I have come across something that I feel the Amiga (*especially* Amiga OS 4) needs suppport for.

Check here: Slim Devices (http://www.slimdevices.com/)

As far as I am aware it is open source and having used it, I find it the most exiting gadget for a long while.

It rocks and works far better than it looks.  It's basically a wireless (cable aswell) mp3 (plus any other big audio format) remote playing device (You can even control it via your PDA ...).  Having said that, it is more than that, there is a developer community and my favourite part is that it loves Shoutcast.

Like I said, it works better than it looks and if I could do an Amiga port of the Slim-Server I would but I am not experienced enough and don't have the time.  Check this out and experience the quality of this product.  Very simple idea but very well implemented.  Maybe its been done before, but I haven't seen it.
