Title: Webcam working on amiga?
Post by: Ponos2D on February 05, 2003, 12:35:38 AM
I have spider usb card, and I have logitech
webcam. I downloaded demo of VHIstudio.
Webcam does not work with VHIstudio.

Is ther any other program that can work
with webcams!

I've use VHIstudio (registered) to run a webcam before. The main problem is that it does not take into account if you are running the webcam locally. You have to run an ftp server and upload to it. Would be great if you could just save to local directory. I was using Vlab card and video camera though, not a USB camera.

If I recall correctly, I don't think Logitech webcams are supported.  I have an Aiptek Pencam VGA that does work with Poseidon and VHI Studio.

Webcams must use the STV680 chipset to work with Poseidon.

Check the Poseidon homepage for more information.

Isn't there an option in Vhistudio prefs to use a local file instead of using ftp?

This probably won't help you, but I know a guy who used to run a web cam using a V-Lab motion, and IIRC some software off Aminet.

His A-Org user name is Kraftwerk, you can try to PM him. I don't know how often he shows up here any more :-(
