Yes, today around midday, my beloved MSI km2m (yes, the one that survived the psu burnout) died after a routine clean of the water cooler and radiator.
So... time to get another mobo, and probably some more up to date ram as getting mobo's that still support SD-Ram is... interesting to say the least.
looking at the km3m as a replacement, along with some corsair budget pro PC2700 ddr...
am sticking with micro-atx as a form factor, along with my athlon 2000, as I've found it to be a good overclocker (and the fact that beOS has issues with anything over 2.1Ghz).

The title of this thread is in rather poor taste, IMO. I really thought I would be reading about something really terrible when I clicked on it.
-
Kenny has a point. I suppose all I can say is I'm relieved to read it's a duff bit of hardware and not an actual bereavment.
Good luck sorting it out.

I guess yes, poor taste, but it wasn't just "a bit of duff hardware" I'd poored days and days into getting every last ounce of performance out that board, I knew it like I knew the A1200 - I could make it do things well outside its specs.
And a damned stable one, up until the psu blew out. After that it went down hill, leveled off for a few months, then yesterday nada.
In other news I gave my mother one of my dogs today, I'd raised her from being a puppy, which between to two of events has left me feeling bloody rotten.
EDIT
Kenny, Karlos, I'll let you in on something: When I have really bad news to give, you won't see it comming from the thread title. what can I say, I'm a Ba$tard like that.

Oh, come on guys! It was a little funny, right? :-)
Besides, would you have preferred a horrible post about someone dying?
-
@the_leander
I meant "duff" as in "no longer functional", not as in "worthless bit of junk" ;-)
I killed a much loved (my first, in fact) A1200 with a dodgy PSU so I can sympathise with the sentiment.
This last year has seen some genuine bereavements in the families of some close friends of mine. I guess this managed to touch a nerve somehow :-/

Sorry man, didn't realise.. condolances to the folks involved :-(
There is however a positive to this, a close friend of mine emailed me last night to offer me one of his old rigs...
An Abit VP6, dual socket 370 (P3) motherboard, with 512Mb ram and a matched pair of 800Mhz P3's to go with it :-D :-o :-o :-o :-D
