Hello,
I asked this a couple of months ago, but did not have time to concentrate on the problem because of my summer job. I also did not own WB disks then.
So here is the problem:
I have an Amiga 2000, WB & KS 3.1, with 1gb Seagate SCSI-HD and Commodore SCSI controller ("HD for Amiga 2500" says in the card).
When I start WB 3.1 installation HD tools won`t find the HD, so it does not show in the list for format etc.
What should I do? Any ideas?

Doooommyy . . .a job for you!!.
I hope for free, this time
Seriously . . . i think a SCSI cable termination problem
-
It might have something to do with the ROM version on the HD card. Look here (http://www.amiga-hardware.com/) for information on the Commodore SCSI controllers. I hope this gives you a starting point.

Yeah, this is the one: http://www.amiga-hardware.com/a2090.html

This is my first SCSI ever... does that mean that the HD must be connected to the last connector of the cable?
:-?

You need to set the scsi id on the drive and then use a terminator to terminate the chain.

Hmm. so I can buy a scsi terminator from a computer store?
How do I set the ID on the drive?

The 2090 is a bad card. You may want to save yourself some anguish and get a 2091 or other SCSI card! I think that if all you have on the card is the internal SCSI HD, termination should be set to the HD only. The 2090 should have termination packs on the card? Not 100% sure on that one, I know for sure the 2091 has them. I would get the HD model number and search on Google for some documentation. Jumper settings, etc. You will want to find out what device # it is at, and how to turn on termination.

My A2500 came with a 2091 which a not bad controller. It still may be the controller.
But check theses things first:
1- check to make sure the unit is set to a number between "0 and 6" 7 is reserved for the controller
2- try another cable if it is an older cable it can have cracks or breaks
3- check the drive on a known working controller Amiga Windows or Mac based it could be the drive
4- Prob this should be first or secound check to make sure it is a SCSI 1 or SCSI 2 drive (some SCSI 2 drives will not work with SCSI 1 controller) make sure it is not scsi 3, ultra wide scsi, ultra fast scsi or scsi ultra.
If it is the contoller I would suggest a GVP controller over Commodore 2091. It has better addressing and controller software and is between 20-50 % faster and the 8 meg ram update takes standard 30 pin sims.

Hey, thanks guys for the information. Really friendly!
I continue tackle with this problem... and even going to try MFM-HD if I can find a cable from my dad`s carage.

Whenever I had a hardware problem with my Amiga's, I used to spray paint them pink and threaten to drag them down the road for all to see.
Worked most of the time, but if that failed, I used to take them onto the roof and threaten to throw them at the ground.
Simple advice is often the best

Btw, when they worked, I sprayed them black, so that friends didn't think my Amiga was gay or owt

I wouldn't even bother with the A2090 card nor the MFM drive. It's really outdated and a pain in the arse to set up. Take the advice of the others and pick up a real SCSI-I/II controller like the A2091 (w/ v6.6 or v7.0 ROMs), a GVP Impact controller, a Supra, DataFlyer 2000, ICD SCSI2000 or even an old AlfaData controller. They go on eBay for sometimes less than US$20 (that's like 15 Euros!).

Amigakit.com had a SCSI controller for reasonable money :-)
