Title: seperate the CD Rom and IDE interface??
Post by: monkian_2k on August 26, 2004, 07:21:39 PM
Hi everyone.
Im thinking about selling my amiga cd-rom and interface. I dont use it because i dont have any damn cd's.
I was wondering if i should split them up. I dont know how many people already have interfaces or how many need/want one.
As far as i remember the interface came with the cd drive itself. but its good for using 3.5" drives.

please give me your thoughts.

Ta everyone.

Well, if it's just a barebones standard IDE/ATAPI CD-ROM drive it isn't worth anything anyway. What kind of interface is it? A four way splitter for an A1200? PCMCIA thingamajig?

Yeah, some more details huh.
The drive is an external slimline model with an external power supply.
and the drive is 4xEIDE buffered interface used on my A1200.
hmmm.

Anyone give me an idea of how much these are worth now?
It's a shame for them to be unused.

Any demand at all?

  :-)

Hi robert,

Yeah im in the UK. 20gbp sounds reasonable. Do you have ebay reference's or something. Though Im sure you'd be easy to find; covered in fur, holding a giant cookie!!

I just checked the weight and it's fairly heavy.
I can pop it in a box and get a quote from the post office tomorrow. I dont have any scales here you see.

I assumed you meant 20gbp + p&p.

Would you like me to get a postage price?

Cheers.

ps. i can chuck in the few cd's i managed to get too.
